Welcome to The Turner Family Page, which furnishes historical detail beyond the site index, exploring four generations of Turners in the line of
Henry Turner of Queensborough, Kent, England.

6. Sarah "Sally" Turner (Robinson) --The first wife of Solomon Robinson and mother of Annie Robinson Bland, Sally, the youngest of eleven children, was born ca.1833 (presumably in Caroline Co., MD) and married Solomon on July 12, 1848 at age 15. After giving birth to a son, Thomas in 1849 and a daughter, Annie in 1852, Sally died (before Jan,18,1853) at the age of 19. We do not know if she died from complications in childbirth with Annie or lived a few moths longer. Her parents were Garretson Turner and Sarah "Sally" Gootee of Caroline Co., Maryland.

7. Garretson Turner --The father of Sally Turner Robinson, Garretson was born between 1785-90 in Caroline Co., MD, the second of six children. He married Sarah "Sally" Gootee (b.1790-94) on Jan.32,1812 in Caroline Co. and together they had 11 children. After Sally’s death in 1833, Garretson remarried Sarah Camper (b.1808) and had four more children. Garretson died ca.1846. His parents were Thomas Turner and Ann "Nancy" Andrew.

8. Thomas Turner (Jr.)--The father of Garretson Turner, Thomas was born around 1760 and died in 1805 in Caroline County, MD. On April 26, 1781 he married Ann "Nancy" Andrew (1761-1839), daughter of Richard and Sarah Andrew. Nancy’s younger sister, whose first name is not known was Sally Turner’s maternal grandmother, the wife of Abel Gootee and mother of Sally Gootee Turner, who was Thomas’ daughter-in-law. Thomas had only one sibling, a sister named Margaret "Peggy" Turner.

9. Henry Turner (III) --The father of Thomas Turner, Henry was born around 1730-40 and died in Caroline Co. MD in 1797. His wife, named Sarah (maiden name unknown), died sometime after Dec.9, 1799. Henry’s parents were Henry Turner (II) and Elizabeth Bonner.

10. Henry Turner (II) --The father of Henry Turner (I), Henry Sr. was born before 1706 and is described in the court records as a planter. Sometime before 1721, he married Elizabeth Bonner, daughter of Theodorus and Rachel Bonner. He had one sibling, a younger sister named Sarah and his parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Turner of Dorcester Co. MD. Henry died in that county in 1746.

11. Thomas Turner (Sr.)--The father of Henry Turner (II), Thomas was a planter in Dorcester Co. MD. Sometime before 1704, he married Elizabeth (died before Nov. 1706), whose maiden name--possibly Spencer-- is not proven. (Records of the time indicate that she is probably the daughter of William and Isabell Spencer of Dorcester Co. MD.) Thomas’ parents were Henry Turner and Abigail Williams, who immigrated to Maryland from England.

12. Henry Turner (I) --The father of Thomas Turner (Sr.), Henry was born in Queensborough, Kent, England, probably around 1660, and married Abigail Williams, who was born before 1665. LDS (presumably referring to the same Abigail) records that she was christened May 10, 1660 at St. Botolph without Aldgate, England and was the daughter of Edward and Abigail Williams (the mother was born and married before 1665 and died after 1690). Henry Turner immigrated in 1671 and married Abigail Turner before Aug. 1674 and had only one known child, Thomas. Henry died in Dorchester Co. MD ca. Oct, 1679.
